- More leaks from new google smart home devices have surfaced, including the next nest bell
- AA Redditor shared images revealing a list of new features that Google could announce on October 1st
- According to that, Google Gemini could finally arrive on Google Smart Home Material, but this will require a subscription
Google is preparing to unveil its new range of intelligent nest house devices integrated into gemini, and following the unexpected appearance of its next nesting cams and its nest bell at Home Depot, more details on the new video bell have surfaced.
Similarly to the initial leak, a user shared a Reddit article (see below) with images near the new video doorbell in their packaging, which reveals a list of device specifications. It also shows that the name of the new model is Google Nest Doorbell 2K, which we assume linked to its improved video quality.
New 2K R / Nest doorbell
A few days ago, Google teased an upcoming material event for October 1, suggesting that the equipment of the smart house with Gemini will be the main objective. In addition to the new nest bell, new nest cams have also been spotted in stores and are likely to be announced on October 1, as well as a new Smart Nest speaker which was in preparation for five years.
In addition to a range of new upgrades in which I will dive below, there are many functions that Google postpones from its current bell model, including bidirectional audio, night vision and weather resistance.
We still have a few weeks to do until Google reveals its long-awaited overhaul of intelligent home devices, but what do we know about the new 2K nest bell?
Gemini integrations, and more
As mentioned above, the new Google Nest bell will probably be delivered with improved video quality. In the list of door specifications, he indicates that his video quality will record “up to 2K (2048 x 2048) HDR”, which is a significant upgrade of the current nest 960 x 1280.
Depending on the features listed on the box, the door to the NID 2K door is delivered with a diagonal field of 166 degrees – from the diagonal view of 145 degrees. But despite these improvements, it is the new integrations with Google Gemini that everyone will keep an eye on October 1.
Just as Google has teased new equipment in its initial ad, the company also revealed that Gemini would arrive at Google Home, and although it was long to come, it seems to be delivered with a slight plug.
In the images disclosed on Reddit, the Fine Print specifications indicate “the subscription (sold separately) required for certain features, including the Gemini and certain IA experiences”, so it is worth it to be considered before being too excited for the new Google Home material.
