Google Pixel 10 cameras could be both an upgrade and demotion of its predecessors according to a new rumor, the phone apparently defined to win a telephoto lens, but to have worse sensors for its two other snakes.
This is according to the big titles of Android, which – in accordance with previous leaks – says that the Pixel 10 will have a telephoto lens, which the Google Pixel 9 does not have. It will be apparently the same zoom of 10.8 MP 5x as shown in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and which will also be supposed to be used by the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
So this is good news, but it apparently has a cost, this report saying that the 50MP main camera of the Pixel 9 will be replaced by the Vivaneau by Google Pixel 9a 48MP, which has a 1/2.0 inch sensor.
The ultra-large camera could be in an even greater degradation, with Android titles saying that it will only be 12 MP this year, against 48 MP on the Pixel 9.
On the positive side, passing through a previous leak, Google Pixel 10 could at least offer an improved macro-photography, with ultra-large and telephotic cameras that may have a macro mode.
A larger battery and a brighter screen
In all cases, this last report also details other specifications, and there is again a mixture of upgrades and demotion. Regarding upgrades, the Google Pixel 10 apparently will have a brighter screen, with its advanced brightness which will reach 3,000 nits (against 2,700 nits on the Pixel 9). The display is apparently otherwise unchanged, the Pixel 10 would have the same FHD + 120 Hz screen of 6.3 inch as its predecessor.
Also for upgrades, the battery could be slightly larger at 4,970mAh (compared to 4,700 mAh), as well as slightly higher wired load speeds, while the wireless load will be apparently supplemented at 15 W.
The chipset should be a new G5 tensor, although this is again associated with 12 GB of RAM and a choice of 128 GB or 256 GB of storage.
But the Pixel 10 will apparently not have a steam room, and although its predecessor does not have it either, the Pixel 9 pro it, so it is slightly disappointing. Worse, we say that it lacks Wi-Fi 7 support, despite the fact that the Pixel 9 has that.
Thus, the Google Pixel 10 sounds like something of a mixed bag, these rumor camera changes in particular probably have a real impact. If this report is precise, Google has chosen versatility on quality for cameras, it will be interesting to see what impact it has in the photos you can take.
We will probably discover it in August, on August 20, the date of announcement of the Pixel 10.
