- Google says that new Nest devices are in the pipeline

If you had the impression that Google’s attention on Pixel phones and AI models meant that the company was unaware of its Nest smart home kit, think again: Google says that “more useful domestic devices” are on the way “in the months and years to come”.
This promise of future material was made in a blog article (via 9TO5GOOGLE) which also announced that the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and the intelligent lock of the Nest X Yale lock, were interrupted.
It may not be surprising that it is the end of the line for these two materials, which have not been updated for several years – but it seems that Google remains attached to intelligent house devices and the Nest brand in general.
The blog post indicates the Streamer Google TV and the 4th generation thermostat (both launched last August) as proof that it is still interested in the house equipment, even if there has not been a large number of launches in recent times.
New nests
In addition to the streaming box and the smart thermostat, the current range of devices covers security cameras, video bells, smart speakers and smart screens. It seems that at least some of these gadgets could be updated this year.
We know that Google is busy exchanging Google Assistant for Google Gemini on its devices and in its software, which seems to be a good reason to repel certain speakers and updated nesting displays.
New models are certainly due: the latest new smart speaker we had was the Nest Audio, launched in September 2020, while the most recent smart screen to arrive was the 2nd generation Nest Hub, which made its debut in March 2021.
Amazon is busy upgrading Alexa on its intelligent house equipment, which could push Google in action – and there are even reports that speakers and echo displays could be renamed as Alexa Alexa Alexa in the near future.
