- Google messages improves its messages to delete messages
- You can soon delete a message for everyone
- We now have screenshots showing how the functionality works
This is not a great feeling, sending a text and then regretting it – instantly, the next morning, or at any time between the two – and Google Messages seems to offer users a safety net with the possibility of remotely deleting messages for everyone in a conversation.
It was spotted for the first time last month, but now the people of Android Authority actually managed to make it work. This is based on a code excavation made in the latest version of Google Messages for Android.
Although the functionality is not yet live for everyone, the Android team Authority has changed the application to bring it to display some of the functionalities. The deletion of a text shows a dialog requiring if you simply want to wipe your local copy or erase it for all recipients.
If an image is wiped, this evokes a reserved space “deleted message” in the conversation for all those who participate. It seems that there is a 15 -minute window for deletion – so you will have to be relatively fast.
To bring back

The upgrade is graceful of RCS Universal Profile V2.7, for which Google was adding the support. The remote deletion function may not be available for devices with older software installed – so keep this in mind for your text cats.
Until now, the deletion of a text has only deleted the message on your own phone. Once it was delivered and downloaded from the recipient’s devices, you couldn’t do anything to bring it back.
This will change when this update will finally be carried out in its entirety, although it is not clear exactly when it is. Considering Android Authority has been able to access some of the screens that display the functionality that works, it should not be too long now.
Support for this feature varies in other applications: WhatsApp allows you to delete messages sent for all recipients, while Imessage allows you to delete messages sent, but only your local copy (although you can send messages back in a two -minute window).
