- Google promises a billion dollars in financing for education and training at AI in the United States

- The news comes only a few weeks after Microsoft announced a similar scheme, but at 4x the value
Google has confirmed a commitment to spending $ 1 billion over the next three years to support AI education and training in the United States, targeting colleges, universities and non-profit organizations.
The CEO of Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, explained in a blog article that more than 100 colleges and universities have already registered in its IA for Education accelerator program, which hopes to make AI and career training for free for each academic student in America.
Google’s training efforts are added to its already extended involvement in education – the company already manages programs to put Chromebooks in the hands of students in several countries and regions.
Google wants to train American students in AI
In the post, Pichai explained his own personal motivation for the project: “The fact of having regular access to computers at the Higher School changed my life and led me on the Google path. I hope that bringing the best IA tools to students who will open new worlds.”
The last announcement sees students eligible for the United States, as well as Japan, Indonesia, Korea and Brazil, capable of registering for a Google Pro Plan by Google Pro with Gemini 2.5 Pro Access, deep search via Gemini 2.5 Pro, Veo 3, higher limits for Jules, Notebooklm and 2TB of storage.
Benefiting from its presence in the education sector and offering a small excavation to Microsoft which previously dominated the region, Pichai noted that more than four out of five US universities now use Google Workspace for Education.
However, Google is not the only company to invest in the reduction of the current generation of students and our future enrollment.
Microsoft’s president Brad Smith recently shared details on an investment of $ 4 billion in AI and Cloud technology for nursery schools in the 12th year, community and technical colleges and non -profit organizations. Other companies in this space, including Meta, Openai, Anthropic and Amazon, have also promised their own support.
