- Google Freeplay is deleting certain television channels and brings back others
- OUT TV PROUD and SHADES OF BLACK come back both after a few weeks
- The list of freeplay channels has still shrunk overall
Google TV users can notice some changes to the platform’s freeplay service this month, with a number of free television channels leaving and arriving quickly.
We say goodbye to certain seasonal Christmas channels, notably Xumo Holiday Movie Channel, Xumo Holiday Classics and Xumo Christian Christmas – who have arrived in time for the Christmas season and are unlikely to see a lot of traction for the next nine months ( via 9TO5GOOGLE). Although, honestly, we all know people who would look forward to looking at these characteristic vacation films all year round, isn’t it…
But for any sad person to lose free channels, there are also good news here. A pair of channels that have been removed from freeplay earlier in February now comes back to the service to compensate. After a brief absence, Shades of Black – The “Black Culture, Entertainment and Lifestyle” channel formerly known as Fuse Beat – is now back on FreePlay, alongside LGBTQ + Network Out TV Proud.
These channels were part of a major GOOGLE TV FREEPLAY warming, alongside Hill TV, Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan, The Dove Channel, Comedy Dynamics, The Bob Ross Channel, Dazn Ringside and Dazn Women’s Football. However, it seems that their absence only lasted a few weeks, even if the remaining seven channels are still nowhere. (We will miss you, Bob Ross).
What is the problem?
Google TV Freeplay is a great advantage for American customers using Google’s Smart TV operating system, packing more than 160 free channels that cover everything, documentary channels and Bollywood films and real crime.
2024 saw a regular increase in the number of channels available, possibly culminating around 170, although it seems that Google begins to organize this list a little more intentionally during the new year.
Freeplay is only one of the main actors in Fast (free streaming television in difficulty) these days. Viewers can now watch lots of free television shows and movies on Samsung TV Plus, Pluto TV, Tubi and the Roku channel.
While Netflix again increases its subscription prices, and it becomes even more difficult to juggle all the best television shows on a broken streaming market, many people adopt free and supported television that does not put A large monthly bunch in their expense budget.
And as long as your favorite channels do not suddenly disappear, there should always be a lot of google TV freeplay so that you can take advantage of it throughout 2025. Let’s just hope that the information summaries on Google AI will end not by replacing them.
