Google widens the usefulness of Gemini using the AI assistant to summarize PDF content in Google Drive, but it seems to be much more proactive than simply generating summaries.
With suggestions for clickable action, users will be able to carry out actions such as drawn up an example of a proposal or list the interview issues according to a CV, which makes the tool much more powerful for occupied workers.
The improvement follows the previous deployment of Gemini in PDFS for Google Drive, which facilitates interaction with Gemini and will go to the next step with the content of PDF.

“PDF summary cards save you time by giving you most of your files and helping you start using Gemini faster by surfaceing the relevant clickable action options,” Google explained in the blog of workspace updates.
The best part is that Gemini is now available in more than 20 languages, so users will not be limited to English content.
Users must have activated functions and customization. When a PDF document is open, a generative AI summary will appear in a pop-up as are comments in other Google Drive applications. In the same window, a series of action recommendations will be provided to take other measures.
At the same time, Google has announced a smoother and faster user interface – while the PDFs would open in a new tab to allow the integration of the Gemini, the AI assistant will now work in the preview window without the need to open a new tab.
The progressive deployment has already started, but it could take some users for up to two weeks to get the update.
