The former New York Yankees star Mark Teixeira made a swing among the Democrats before the US Senate adopted a bill which would have avoided a closure of the government.
Teixeira, who presents himself for the Congress in Texas, responded on social networks to a warning from the president of the Mike Johnson Chamber, R-Louisiana, who declared on Monday on PK Press Club Channel that Senator Chuck Schumer, D-New York and the Democratic Party planned to close the government to “apply their base of extreme partisans”.

The World Series champion suggested that he had enough.
“That’s exactly why I run,” wrote Teixeira on X Tuesday. “Democrats destroy our country, and President Trump needs reinforcements that will fight to take over our country.”
A few hours after the Teixeira post, the government’s financing bill failed to pass the Senate. The bill, which would have given the congress until November 21 to fix the financing priorities for the financial year 2026, adopted the Chamber largely along the party on September 19.
President Donald Trump told journalists earlier during the day that the Republicans did not want a closure, but warned that the GOP could inflict pain on democrats if the government close.

ESPN star Paul Finebaum said the network has chopped a potential Trump interview in 2019
“We can do things during the closure that is irreversible, which are bad for them and irreversible by them, like cutting a large number of people, reducing the things they love, the reduction in the programs they love,” said Trump in reference to the Office of Management and the MEMO budget on mass layouts.
Schumer, the head of the Senate minority, answered Trump at a press conference on Tuesday: “Well, there are.
“As I said, the Democrats did not want a closure. We are ready to work with the Republicans to find a bipartite compromise, and the ball is in their courtyard,” said Schumer.
Teixeira launched his campaign for the 21st District of the Texas Congress in August. He followed the decision of the Chip Roy representative not to request a re -election.
