KARACHI:
Strongly objecting to keeping the federal government in the dark over the question paper leak probe, the Inter-Board Coordination Commission (IBCC) has written a strong letter to the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) , asking him to share the findings. of the investigation before January 23.
In the letter, the IBCC reminded the CIE that it has not yet shared details of the investigations and the subsequent decision on the leaked mathematics paper. The letter also mentioned the CIE’s response to his previous correspondence.
“It was implied that Cambridge was investigating concerns regarding the alleged leak and would provide an update with a response once the investigation was completed and a decision was made,” the letter said, adding that no reports was not shared with him, even after sending several reminders.
The letter states that the IBCC was surprised to learn through a notice from the Sindh High Court (SHC) that the CIE had carried out the investigation, but had failed to penalize those responsible for the paper leak.
The commission strongly opposed this attitude, to the extent that the CIE did not trust COPIB with the results of the investigation, although it had completed the investigation.
“The issue of continued non-cooperation in providing required information to the BICC raises significant concerns, particularly when the BICC is required to present this information at higher national forums,” the BICC letter said.
