The federal government has declared that Wi-Fi routers are not secure. In this regard, the National Information Technology Board (NITB) has issued an advisory to all organizations regarding security threats associated with wireless networks.
The advisory describes the cybersecurity risks associated with the use of Wi-Fi networks and provides precautionary measures.
The advisory highlights the importance of securing Wi-Fi routers, as they are an essential part of modern ICT infrastructure.
The NITB says that due to increasing vulnerabilities, default security configurations and lack of user awareness, malicious actors can gain unauthorized access to networks or systems, install malware and steal sensitive information.
