The Minister of Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, announced reimbursements ranging from RS20,000 to Rs140,000 for the pilgrims who carried out the Hajj last year.
At a press conference on Tuesday, the minister said: “I want to share good news with the nation. We are paying money to all the pilgrims who made Hajj last year. Reimbursements will vary from RS20 000 to 140,000, and we will continue to provide the best facilities for Hajj this year.
He also pointed out that the Hajj package offered by Pakistan is the most affordable in the world.
The additional religious secretary has provided other details concerning reimbursements, specifying that some pilgrims will receive up to 140,000 rupees, while others will receive amounts as low as 20,000 rupees.
Three percent of the pilgrims will receive 140,000 rupees, 23% will receive 75,000 rupees and 3,000 pilgrims will receive 50,000 rupees. He added that if savings are also made in this year’s hajj process, these will be reimbursed to pilgrims.
Hussain also said that the number of applications for Hajj this year is almost identical to the number of last year.
While the short Package of Hajj was at the price of RS1,075 million rupees last year, this year, it will be RS1.05 million, which makes it the most affordable hajj package in the world compared to rates global and at the current exchange rate in dollars.
The Minister also mentioned that the Hajj government quota had been completed and that no additional request will be accepted. However, installations under the difficulty quota remain available.
Hussain also welcomed the cooperation of the Saudi Minister of Hajj, Dr. Tawfiq al-Rabiah, noting that no other country has received such extensive support for Hajj’s arrangements.
