Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Tuesday a special set for Pakistanis abroad, including the creation of special courts for the rapid resolution of their legal affairs and a quota of five percent in federal universities.
Addressing the first annual Pakistani convention abroad abroad in Islamabad, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the contributions of the diaspora, one day after the country declared the sends of monthly records of 4.1 billion dollars.
“Special courts have been set up in Islamabad for rapid elimination of the affairs of Pakistani abroad,” he said, adding that similar courts would be established in all provinces. The government also plans to facilitate virtual attendance of hearings and activate electronic deposit for foreign citizens.
The Prime Minister announced a 5% quota for overseas Pakistani people in federal universities and said that 3,000 children of foreign citizens are admitted to medical faculties. He also declared an age relaxation in government jobs for foreign candidates.
To improve access to services, a registration system for online sales acts was launched in Punjab and a special facilitation office was appointed in the province.
Sharif also announced its intention to build an international airport in Mirpur, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, a long -standing request from the diaspora. He said that 15 civil prizes would be awarded to the Pakistanis abroad each year for excellence in their respective fields, from each year on August 14.
