On Wednesday, the federal government officially announced public holidays for Eidul Fitr, from March 31 to April 2.

A notification issued by the cabinet secretariat said the Prime Minister said these dates as public holidays to celebrate Eidul Fitr.

The vacation period will extend from Monday to Wednesday, allowing citizens to observe the festivities and celebrate the opportunity.

Meanwhile, the Central Committee of Rue-E-Hilal, as well as the zonal committees, will meet on Sunday evening March 30, 2025 (Ramazan 29, 1446 Ah), to see the Moon Shawwal, marking the potential end of the sacred month of Ramadan and the start of the celebrations of the Eid UL-FITR in Pakistan.

The meeting will take place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interconfessional Harmony, where religious scholars, meteorological experts and other stakeholders will meet to examine the observation reports of the moon in the whole country.

This session will determine the exact date of the Eid Ultasy, which marks the end of Ramadan, the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar.

Earlier, in February 2025, the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere (Suparco) research commission provided for the visibility of Ramadan and Shawwal croissants on the basis of scientific assessments, astronomical calculations and observation data.

According to these models, the Shawwal Moon should be visible on March 30, indicating that Eid Ul-Fitr will probably fall on March 31, 2025.
