Govt declares Balutchs terrorist groups, organizations like “Fitna al Hindustan”

The federal government ordered state institutions on Saturday to refer to militant groups operating in its province director of Baloutchistan “Fitna al Hindustan”Accusing India of sponsoring a proxy war through these insurgents.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of the Interior on Saturday, this decision stems from “the involvement of certain organizations and groups in terrorist activities in Balutchistan, which are harmful to Islamic faith, the sovereignty of Pakistan and its customary traditions”.

The notification also indicated that the new designation aims to reflect “the true nature and the ideology” of these groups and their “harmful conceptions” which allegedly sponsored by India.

“All government entities are responsible for immediately starting the above practice,” said the notification, highlighting a concerted effort to reframe the story on insurgent violence in the province.

The announcement came while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused India of having increased indirect assault after what he described as his defeat in a recent security operation nicknamed “Marka-e-haq”.

“These terrorists are not Balutch. They are disturbance agents sponsored by India,” said the army chief, reiterating the position of the armed forces that separatist violence in the province is caused outside.

The government’s decision to adopt a new label for insurgents based in Balutchistan reflects a similar decision last year, when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) was officially appointed “Fitna al-Khawarij”.

At that time, the Ministry of the Interior said that the term “Khariji” had been chosen to expose what he described as the false representation of the TTP of Islam.
