Islamabad:
The Federal Government has set up a special committee to provide legal aid to resolve the issues of the families of the missing persons, whose cases are the subject of an investigation in the commission of inquiry into forced disappearances, in matters of family law.
According to a press release published on Friday, families of disappeared persons having such a problem, in particular concerning Nadra concerning the publication of CNIC / Form-B for various purposes, can submit their grievances, in writing, to the special committee by means of any communication mode, including an e-mail ([email protected]) or Whatsapp (0321-5101070), followed by the submission of Hard copies.
Families can also visit and meet Saadia Rashid, assistant registrar of the commission of inquiry on forced disappearances, at the General Civil Management Defense Building, Mauve Area, G-9/1 sector, Islamabad every working day, for submission and discussion on their questions.
Recently, the judge of the Supreme Court, Athar Minallah, developed the difficulties that the judges were faced with regard to the cases of missing persons and the disappearances imposed in the face of state non-cooperation and legislators.
In June 2025, Coioed had received a total of 10,592 cases, 1,914 of which were eliminated and 6,786 traced, said the Commission.
Last year, the government announced a “support set” of 5 million rupees per family of missing persons, which would provide them with legal and financial aid in accordance with the Minister of Law.
