The Minister of the Interior, Mohin Naqvi, announced Thursday that new regulations on passports were introduced to limit the growing problems of begging and illegal immigration, framing the decision as a step towards the restoration of the image of Pakistan internationally, Radio Pakistan reported.

Chairing a meeting at the Directorate General for Immigration and Passports in Islamabad, Naqvi asked officials to quickly finalize all the legal procedures necessary to implement the new policy.

“These new requirements will serve as a deterrent to those who abuse the system, including beggars and illegal migrants,” said Naqvi. He also underlined the need for compliance at 100% to block the passports of expelled people from foreign countries.

The Minister of State in the Interior Talal Chaudhry, who was also present, noted that the new rules would send a positive message to the global community on the commitment of Pakistan to responsible trips and the management of immigration.

During the visit, NAQVI also inspected six newly installed passport (MRP) (MRP) (MRP) and two electronic passport systems, which should increase passport printing capacity and reduce treatment time for candidates.

He also organized a meeting with a German technical team supervising the installation process, reflecting international collaboration on technological improvements.

DG Mustafa Jamal Qazi Passports informed the Minister of Initiatives to come, including the launch of a mobile application aimed at rationalizing services and improving the accessibility of citizens.
