The legislators of the Treasury and the Opposition benches welcomed improved economic indicators on Thursday and underlined the need for bipartite efforts to support economic progress and promote inclusive growth.
Submitting the budgetary debate, Raja Qamar-Uul-Islam of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rented the budget as a history and praised the role of the armed forces of Pakistan in sending a firm message to India. He expressed his confidence that the 2025-26 budget would open the way to sustainable economic growth in the country.
Amir Dogar of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) criticized the government for overlooking the agriculture sector and called to increase the minimum wage to Rs 50,000.
Atif Khan de Sic criticized the budget and underlined the rescue measures for the poor company.
The parliamentarian legislator of the Parliament of the People of Pakistan (PPPP), Shagufta Jumani, appreciated the government to allocate major funds to the Benazir income support program (BISP).
It also urged the government to allocate funds dedicated to the eradication of polio, stressing the importance of sustained public health efforts.
Rana Hayat proposed the creation of a special chamber committee to focus on the problems encountered by farmers, a vital segment of the economy.
Mna Usama Ahmed Mela, emphasizing the essential role of agriculture in national development, called on the government to provide incentives to farmers, including subsidies to fertilizers, pesticides and wider agricultural reforms.
He also suggested an examination of the Federal Authority for the Federal Council (FBR), indicating concerns concerning his administrative scope.
