The federal government has launched a new Smart Power mobile application, “”Apna Meter, Apni Reading “, aimed at improving the transparency of the invoicing of electricity and to allow consumers to take control of their monthly meter readings, he emerged on Sunday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially inaugurated the application, developed by the Division of Power under the direction of Minister Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari.
The application allows users to download a photo of their meter reading on a specific date, which will then be used to generate their invoice.
The target displacement of key problems such as overcharging readings, delayed or inaccurate, and the lack of transparency in the current system.
Consumers who submit their readings will prevail over all the readings of the subsequent company for this billing cycle.
The functionality is particularly beneficial for subsidized consumers, helping them to avoid losing their eligibility due to minor differences.
For example, crossing the threshold for using 200 units per single unit can increase an invoice of 2,330 pkr to more than 8,000 PKR.
