Govt launches the repression of illegal foreigners

Islamabad:

The authorities have decided to launch an immediate repression against illegal foreigners in the federal capital and four adjacent districts – Rawalpindi, Attock, Mirrier and Haripur – as part of a plan to declare them “safe areas”.

Under the plan, the data of illegal residents will be compiled, their access to blocked mobile sims and the issue of stamp documents for real estate transactions or other prohibited financial transactions. The assistant commissioners and district police chiefs of the five districts were responsible for submitting weekly stage reports.

The decision was made at a high -level meeting of the special working group, chaired by the president of the ADC and chief commissioner of Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, at the headquarters of the CDA.

High officials from the Ministry of the Interior, the National Database and the Registration Authority (NADRA), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Terrorism Department (CTD), the Afghan Commissioner and the District Administrations of the Five Districts participated.

The meeting decided to take strict and immediate measures against foreigners residing without valid visas. A centralized database will be developed containing details such as identities, residential addresses and other relevant information to prevent their resettlement in the future.

Randhawa asked managers to strengthen the coordination and sharing of data with FIA, NADRA and other agencies. He also ordered the strict application of rental laws, with measures against unregistered foreign tenants living in houses or hotels. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has also been invited not to issue Sims to foreigners without valid visas.

It has been agreed that illegal foreigners would also be prohibited from real estate transactions via stamp documents. Randhawa stressed that the government is determined to ensure security and stability by applying the law against illegal migrants, all agencies working together for a permanent solution.
