Govt likely to invoke the budgetary session earlier

Islamabad:

The federal government led by PML-N decided in principle to present the next budget for the financial year before Eidul Azha, which is expected to be celebrated on June 7.

According to sources from the Ministry of Finance, the government is likely to convene the budgetary session of the Parliament a few days earlier for Eid.

He could present the next budget between June 3 to 5. They said the process to adopt the money bill will start immediately after the Eid vacation.

Before presenting the budget, they declared the government authorities will hold consultations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) whose mission will arrive in Pakistan on May 14.

They declared that the government would try to obtain the sign of the IMF’s head on the annual objectives of tax revenue and development budgets, etc.

The Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb will also go to the United States to attend annual IMF and World Bank meetings.

These meetings are planned in Washington on April 21 and 26.
