Police recorded 10 cases against PTI workers for organizing a rally and organized a demonstration in Lahore on August 5. The FIRs include accusations such as sedition, interference in official tasks and theft, according to the police. The cases were deposited in the Model Town, Liaquatabad, Kot Lakhpat, Chuhang, Nawab Town and Millat Park police stations. The police said that the demonstration had become violent, the participants blocking the roads and competing with the police. A total of 129 people were arrested for their presumed involvement in the troubles. Among them, 92 would have arrived in Lahore from other cities to participate in the demonstration. In a broader repression in the last three days, more than 900 PTI workers have been held in various fields, including more than 200 custody during targeted raids. Many of the people arrested on August 3 and 4 have since been released, said the police. According to the FIR, supporters of the PTI have attacked police staff during the demonstration, torn their uniforms and shouted anti-government slogans. The police said that legal proceedings were prosecuted and that people in detention will be presented to the courts. Karachi Karachi police registered a case against the president of Pti Karachi and seven other senior leaders, as well as more than 500 other unidentified workers, for riots, vandalism and disturbing public order during a rally on the university road in Karachi. The case was filed at the PB police station on behalf of the State, following violent incidents during a rally organized on August 5 near Gulshan-E-IQBAL. The rally was led by the leaders of the PTI Raja Azhar, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Arsalan Khalid, Awab Alvi, Saifur Rehman and Alamgir Khan, and attended around 500 to 600 participants.
