- OPENAI’s GPT-5 model will soon be available alongside Apple Intelligence
- This means more powerful Chatppt features on your Apple device
- But this decision can make life more difficult for the rumor chatbot of Apple
OPENAI has just published its latest model of artificial intelligence GPT-5 (AI), and it is ready to bring a multitude of new powerful features to the chatgpt chatbot. Thanks to the integration of Apple de Chatgpt into Apple Intelligence, which could bring advantages to a set of people wider than Chatgpt users – but this also brings serious risks to Apple.
When can we see GPT-5 in Apple Intelligence? Well, the media 9TO5MAC thinks it has the answer. The publication says that Apple told him that GPT-5 will arrive on Apple Devices with the publication of iOS 26, iPados 26 and MacOS Tahoe. This should happen in early September, which means that there is only about a month before GPT-5 is directly incorporated into Apple products.
You can apparently access GPT-5 in different ways on iPhones and Macs. The most obvious being when you use Siri for more complex questions he cannot answer, but also with Apple’s writing tools and visual intelligence, which uses your iPhone’s camera to answer questions about what you look at.
The new GPT-5 features include different personalities (including cynics, listening, nerd and robot), new theme options and improved vocal mode. Google users will also soon be able to connect their Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts accounts directly to Chatgpt.
The GPT-5 is available in a few different sizes, including the ordinary GPT-5 model, GPT-5 Mini and GPT-5 Nano. These offer different levels of reasoning and are all available for free users. If you pay $ 200 per month for Chatgpt Pro, you will also have access to GPT-5 Pro and GPT-5 thinking models, which take more time but offer more insightful answers.
Continuous wait
Although Chatgpt can be used in conjunction with Apple Intelligence, you must invoke it specifically. Most Apple AI requests will use Apple Intelligence, but if there is something that the Apple’s model cannot answer, it will ask you if you want to get back to Chatgpt.
Currently, lean on Chatgpt for more in -depth requests is not particularly well reflected on the Apple Intelligence, but there are signs that Apple works to correct this. The company would have developed its own cat-cat to rival to compete with Chatgpt and others (despite the said before in Techradar “it was never the objective, and it is not our main objective”).
Unfortunately, we do not know when this chatbot is ready, which could be the reason why Apple moves so quickly to incorporate GPT-5 into Apple Intelligence: it could be an attempt to maintain the relevant Apple AI while the company works on its own solution. But the more we have to wait – the more the features are added to Chatgpt – the more the expectations will be high on the Chatbot d’Apple, and the more difficult it will be for Apple Intelligence finally usurp its rivals.
