Halle Berry hopes that another black actress joins her as a winner of Oscar

Halle Berry expressed her frustration being the only black woman to have ever crowned an oscars for an actress in a leading role.

During his recent appearance in the actor Trevor Noah What now? Podcast, The Hollywood Star shared how he feels like a black woman.

“Nation of a black woman, I feel like I always have the impression of sitting at the bottom of the company,” she told the host.

“White man, black man, white woman, black woman. So I always felt in the background, I never have the impression of being defeated because I was at the bottom, I never felt as if I could not dream big because I was at the bottom, never having the impression that I was not worthy or capable because I was downstairs.

“I hope that this year, someone stands next to me,” shared the 58 -year -old actress. “This year, I hope it happens because I’m tired of occupying this space alone.”

Reflecting on her victory, she noted: “I was chosen to open this door. I knew it was greater than me. No? But even if it is not the case, I was chosen at That moment to be a length of possibility.

It has been two decades that Berry’s historic victory and only six black actresses have been nominated so far, including Ruth Negga, Quvenzhane Wallis, Cynthia Erivo, Andra Day, Gabourey Sidibe and Viola Davis.
