Haripur police warned against use of social media

HARIPUR:

Haripur police officials have been warned against posting videos online wearing police uniforms and carrying firearms.

According to officials, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hazara Nasir Mehmood Satti has decided to take action against those involved in creating TikTok videos and maintaining links with criminal elements.

The DIG said corruption, involvement in criminal activities and associations with criminals will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Speaking at a police meeting in Haripur, the DIG stressed that police officers and personnel assigned to development projects and industrial areas must remain on alert at all times.

He urged police officers to treat citizens who visit police stations with courtesy and offer all possible legal assistance.

He also said that self-promotion on social media platforms should be avoided and ministerial action will be taken against any employee who contravenes this directive.

During his visit to Haripur, DIG Nasir Mehmood Satti listened to the concerns of the police employees and gave immediate instructions to resolve their problems.

He also visited the district police officer’s office, inspected the command and control room and examined various branches of the department, providing advice and feedback on their operations.
