Talk to Screen timethe 62-year-old actor laughed as he admitted he had “had enough” of questions about reprising his role.
He also made it clear that he would not return to the wizarding world.
“I feel like I’d be way too old to play my original character, and no, I wouldn’t want to go back to it…I’m tired of talking about it, quite honestly,” he said.
Although he doesn’t want to return, Thewlis recognized the franchise’s positive impact on young audiences.
“…with Harry Potter, it’s the children. And the children are very kindly impressed and very impressed, and it’s very nice to make the children happy,” he mused.
For those who don’t know, HBO’s upcoming reimagining of JK Rowling’s beloved series will star Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron.

Although Thewlis is done with Lupine, he remains grateful for Harry Potter’s cultural legacy.
