Harry Styles has already received critical acclaim for his upcoming album, Kiss all the time. Disco, occasionally with a score of 78 on Metacritic ahead of its March 6 release.
The 31-year-old singer’s lyrics were leaked on March 4 after critics reviewed the album and fans went into an absolute frenzy upon discovering that the album was quite different from what was expected.
Although Styles has claimed in various interviews that the album’s sound is one to dance to, fans have claimed that the lyrics have the ability to bring tears.
The Grammy winner’s next song, Painting by numbersappears to be about his relationship with Olivia Wilde and feeling incapable of being a stepfather to his children, at the time, and fans noted that they “really DID NOT need to read these paint-by-numbers lyrics so early in the morning, oh my God,” because of their deep sadness.
Another X user exclaimed: “Why are all these lyrics breaking my heart?”, while another exclaimed: “RELEASE THE ALBUM ALREADY.”
Although reviews of the album have revealed snippets of the songs, the upcoming album seems as unpredictable as ever, due to the songs’ wide range of themes.
One aspect fans can be sure of is finding vulnerability in all of these themes, as the One Direction alum told Zane Lowe that he made peace with the parts of himself he kept close, during the writing sessions for this album and wrote from that place of freedom.
