Windows 11 has won a large number of converts in the last month, according to a new share of statistics from an analysis company.
Statcounter has recorded a big gain for Windows 11 with its market share of January 2025 (of all Windows versions worldwide), namely a 2.53%increase. Windows 11 is now on a share of 36.65% compared to the previous month when it was on 34.12%.
We have seen recent gains at 2%, but an increase of 2.5% is a new increase here (an increase that would generally occur in two months, as evidenced last year).
Windows 10 went from 62.7% to 60.33%, so do not be illustrated that the old operating system has been dethroned – it is always the monarch reigning by a large margin (far from PC players, who have adopted Windows 11 a lot much faster).
The margin between Windows 11 and Windows 10 decreases regularly, and is now a lead of only 23.7% for the latter.
Windows 7 fell 0.17%, but most people migrating to Windows 11 came from Windows 10 because the figures increasing and falling for the two operating systems clearly illustrate.
It is not surprising that more people move to Windows 11, however, since the deadline for the end of the life of Windows 10, when the updates are no longer delivered to the system of operation, is October 2025 – which is only eight months now.
Analysis: an inevitable migration
Given that time apparently walks faster and faster these days (don’t tell me that I am the only one to have noticed), six months will have left before I know, and that the Windows support deadline 10 will be just on the horizon as a large sign of red and flashing warning. (Whoever proclaims: “Put on now, or put your PC in danger due to new vulnerabilities in Windows 10 which will not be corrected by security updates”).
Well, apart from the defect of another operating system, there is another choice rather than going to Windows 11, and this pays for an additional year of support for Windows 10 – that’s the first time That consumers are offered this option, in fact. However, in some respects, it only rejects the inevitable.
What we are starting to see here, I believe, is the first signs of the rush just to upgrade – something I advised is the best action plan at this stage. After all, why drag, especially if you need to sort something in order to make your PC eligible for upgrade, which could be as simple as overthrowing an option in the BIOS to activate TPM 2.0.
Windows Derniter, who spotted the release of new statistics for Windows versions, observes that companies – which obviously need much more planning for upgrading on a fleet of computers – already passing Windows 11. And this activity will represent a large number boosted for the new operating system. A computer administrator who has more than 1,500 pc under his care told the technological site: “We have been testing Windows 11 for months now, and we think it is the [right] It’s time to move away from windows 10. “
In theory, there should be even more important advice in the market share to Windows 11 over 2025. Indeed, I would be worried if it was not the case.
