- iOS 18.3.1 and macOS 15.3.1 Launched this week
- Some users who had previously disabled Apple Intelligence found it reactivated on the new software update
- Easy to deactivate again, but it’s always a boring bug
Have you turned off Apple Intelligence? Well, this could be activated again when you have updated to the last iOS 18.3.1 or MacOS 15.3.1.
Some users report that new software updates published yesterday with security updates reorganized Apple Intelligence, although users have deactivated Apple AIA before update.
The problem was brought to our attention via a blog article by the developer Jeff Johnson who says: “Some people who had previously disabled Apple Intelligence in MacOS 15.3 and iOS 18.3 reactivated it after update to MacOS 15.3 .1 and iOS 18.3.1 today.
Other users have also reported a problem if the “Home” screen is essentially activated on Apple Intelligence and deletes your previously recorded preferences.
It is fair to assume that this bug must be corrected quickly, although it is worth remembering before seeing the features of Apple Intelligence such as notification summaries, categorization of mail and Chatppt in Siri reactivated on your devices.
AI must always be opt-in
Apple, of course, wants users to use Apple Intelligence on compatible devices, but fortunately, there is the integrated option to deactivate AI tools. Although this particular bug is not so annoying and can be rectified by simply heading towards Settings> Apple Intelligence & Siri> TogueIt is always something that could take you off guard.
We expect Apple to solve this problem quickly and contacted the company to comment. Apple Intelligence continues to improve daily and we expect to see even more IA tools when iOS 18.4 will be released later this year. If you have not used Apple Intelligence for some time, it could be the boost you need to try it again.
