‘He wasn’t Prince’ when Andrew was arrested

Virginia Giuffre’s family speaks out: “He was not a prince” during Andrew’s arrest

Virginia Giuffre’s family couldn’t be happier after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest, calling the moment “long overdue” and insisting: “He was not a prince.”

The arrest, made on Thursday in the United Kingdom, relates to allegations of misconduct in public office relating to Andrew’s past position as trade envoy. He remains in police custody.

This action has no connection to the long-standing sexual abuse allegations that have followed him for years.

Nevertheless, for those close to Giuffre, this moment had unmistakable significance.

In a statement shared with CBS NewsGiuffre’s siblings said their “broken hearts” felt lighter knowing that status doesn’t place anyone beyond responsibility.

They thanked Thames Valley Police for their work and described the development as significant not only for their sister, Virginia Giuffre, but for survivors around the world.

Newly released documents from the Epstein case have once again called attention to Andrew’s past association with the late financier and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has always rejected any suggestion of misconduct. He also refused repeated requests from U.S. authorities to provide testimony about what he knew about Epstein’s activities.
