A massive fire broke out at Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra’s home early Thursday morning.
The home in southwest Miami-Dade, Florida, was severely damaged. Spoelstra was not home when the fire broke out as the team returned from a game in Denver. The team returned to Miami around 5:11 a.m. ET.

No injuries were immediately reported.
Miami-Dade County firefighters said the fire was reported around 4:36 a.m. Spoelstra arrived on scene shortly after the plane landed. Cameras showed Spoelstra approaching the house and looking distraught, according to WSVN-TV in Miami.
Firefighters initially focused on the garage of the multi-million dollar home before flames began to spread throughout the property.

Neighbors told WSVN-TV the house was under renovation before it caught fire.
Authorities have not yet clarified what may have caused this inferno. Firefighters battled the blaze until late in the morning, but authorities said the blaze was under control.
Real estate records show Spoelstra purchased the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home in December 2023. He agreed to a $120 million contract extension with the Heat in January 2024.
