Helium Plus allows companies to reach Solana Depin Project with Just Wi-Fi

Helium, one of the best known depolition projects on Solana, is launching a new service called Helium Plus, aimed at transforming the way companies contribute to the helium network.

Helium Plus will allow public Wi-Fi suppliers and companies to reach the network using existing Wi-Fi routers, without additional equipment required. This will open the door to users and businesses to win the native token of the network, HNT, by taking charge of wireless connectivity while explaining a mobile infrastructure focused on the community.

The decentralized physical infrastructure networks (Depoline) are systems fueled by blockchain that encourage individuals and organizations to deploy and maintain real world infrastructure, such as wireless networks, by rewarding them with cryptographic tokens. These networks move ownership of infrastructure and the exploitation of centralized entities to a distributed and community model.

Helium focuses specifically on decentralized wireless connectivity, allowing users to provide network coverage via “hot spots” deployed individually. Participants then earn the HNT tokens by supporting the transfer of mobile data and widening the availability of the network.

Before Thursday’s announcement, participation in the helium ecosystem generally meant the deployment of physical hotspot devices which required an initial investment and a technical configuration. With Helium Plus, users can use existing Wi-Fi routers, effectively transforming any location with Wi-Fi into a helium access point, which facilitates costs for users who wish to run the network.

“Helium Plus represents a leap forward in the way companies can contribute to the helium network,” said Mario Di Dio, director general of the network at Helium, in a press release shared with Coindesk. “It offers instant and low -cost integration, reducing infrastructure costs while creating new sources of income and improving connectivity. The simplicity of our process is essential to unlock the full potential of this expansion. ”
