- Watchos 26 should be announced on Monday
- It should operate on each Watchos 11 compatible watch
- A major visual overhaul is part of rumor changes
A new software update for the best Apple watches is on the way, and we have just said which models will be compatible with the new Watchos 26 (which is apparently the new name for Watchos 12).
According to a source “with a proven assess” in contact with MacRumors, each watch that can execute Watchos 11 will also be able to execute Watchos 26, so there will be no devices that remain this year.
This means that Apple smart watches go back to the Apple Watch Series 6 (launched in 2020) and the Apple Watch SE 2 (launched in 2022) will be eligible for the new update, as well as all the watches launched since.
If you remember last year, after Watchos 11’s announcement, we learned that Apple that series 5, series 4 and the original would not get the 2024 update. This time, all the apparatus currently supported are included.
What is there in class?
Apple has not yet officially said about Watchos 26 – not even on the way or gets a brand change – but we have heard many rumors about what the software update could bring with it.
As mentioned in the same MacRumors article, there is a prediction that Watchos 26 will offer support for third -party shortcuts on the Watch Control Center for the first time, which should mean an improved experience for users.
An improved new visual interface is also on the track, which would follow the Visionos reader, with a lot of transparency and frosted glass effects. In fact, the same overhaul would have come for all Apple software platforms.
We also hope that we could get a handful of Apple intelligence on the Apple Watch. All these new features should be announced on Monday at WWDC 2025, before the release of Watchos 26 in September with the Apple Watch 11.
