- A new gemini space for the pixel function leaked
- It displays information such as sports scores and birthdays
- The functionality is similar to certain parts of a UI 8
The modifications arrive on the at a glance widget which is on the Pixel home screen, according to the Hidden code identified in the latest version of Android overview – and this could evolve to look more like a few features of the Samsung One UI software.
The code identification was carried out by Android Authority, and the team was able to obtain something called Gemini Space and running in Android Canary (the first beta version of Android you can get).
We have heard nothing official about the Gemini space, but it seems to be based on a glance, and is able to show more information: sports scores and birthday reminders, for example, as well as weather forecasts and details on calendar meetings. Some of this information can already be displayed on Android via persistent notifications.
All these updates can be viewed on the lock screen as well as on the home screen, and it seems that users will also have the possibility of extending these cards in a daily center which provides relevant information throughout your day.
Does that seem familiar?
The display of contextually relevant information on the home screen and the lock screen – including sports scores, timeries and fitness data – is very similar to what Samsung does with the bar now and now in short on a user interface 7 and a user interface 8.
It seems that Google has examined what Samsung does and wants to follow suit. At the same time, you can also say that Samsung widgets have been inspired by a glance on pixels – and live activities on iOS.
We also know that a feature called Live Updates arrives on Android 16, which will also put information in real time on the locking screen. In all areas, we see improvements to the way the information is relevant has surfaced for users – regardless of the manufacturing and the phone model you use.
It is not clear when the new Gemini space could make its way to Pixel phones, but you can expect major updates to Android 16 during the rest of the year, including a wider deployment of the expressive redesign of equipment 3.
