- Another foldable iPhone leak has emerged
- The 7.74 inch and 5.49 inch display sizes are tilting
- The handset is expected to appear next year
The rumors around the foldable iPhone do not stop, and the last leak gives us an idea of the sizes of the screens that the handset will be sporty – both the main display and the display of the exterior cover.
This tip comes from Serial Leaker Digital Chat Station (via Android Authority), a source on which can usually be invoked. Apparently, we are ready to obtain an interior screen of 7.74 inch and an outdoor screen of 5.49 inches when the folding iPhone ultimately appears.
If you want to know how it accumulates against the competition, consult our review Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: this foldable is delivered with a 7.6 inch interior screen and a 6.3 -inch outdoor screen, so the screen Cover is much larger on the Samsung model.
Then there is Google: as our Google Pixel 9 Pro review will tell you, it comes with an interior display of 8 inch and a 6.3 inch outdoor screen. If this leak is correct, the two screens on the foldable iPhone will be smaller.
iPhone not iPad
This leak would suggest that Apple indeed works on a foldable book style, rather than a foldable deadly style (see our review Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 for an example). It also looks more like a folding iPhone than a folding iPad.
Of course, if the foldable iPhone has a smaller screen than its rivals, it is not necessarily a drawback: it means that the handset will be more compact when closed and take up less space in a pocket or a bag.
Until now, rumors have indicated 2026 as the year when Apple will make this iPhone folding public and accessible to the masses. With the Apple record, it will probably become one of the best foldables on the market as soon as it is launched.
Apple would have started to develop the phone last November, but given the complexity of a device like this, next year would be a good bet for the folding iPhone making an appearance – and we can expect more than leaks and rumors in the meantime.
