A “bad business always blames their tools” is undoubtedly a familiar sentence (although the common wording is “worker”, but come on, it’s 2025 now). The fact is that if you recently had a business in your home to do some work, you may have noticed that if they are good in their work, they almost certainly had high quality tools. These first -rate tools help them do this work – you do not paint large living room walls with a small beaten and beaten brush that has wore hair.
Similarly, if you are a serious PC player – an Esports professional, even or a budding professional – you do not use the Bog -Standard mouse that you have at work for your matches like Valorant or League of Legends. You select a first -rate game mouse that allows you to play as much as possible, and with regard to these devices, there are clear reasons to go with Logitech G.
Reasons that have indicated the best eSports teams such as Navi, G2 Esports, Team Heretics and Team BDS are equipped with Logitech G equipment. These are outfits that have marked large victories, such as the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 where Navi has beaten Faze Clan, to choose an example among many.
Logitech G has made revealing progress with its game mouses lately, as part of a desire to make these fastest and most reactive peripherals – which are all linked to eight, fairly interesting magic.
8/88/888 – numbers for victory
What’s special about eight years, then? Before this explanation, it is useful to sketch a quick background here. Since Logitech G presented its hero sensor – the sensor being the engine of the mouse, the component that sees and follows the user movements with the device – and the company released its first Lightspeed game mouse in 2016, it was on a mission to develop faster and more precise game mouses.
This ambition resulted in a series of upgrades from the original hero sensor at Hero 25K, culminating in the Hero 2 sensor – each of those who are more precise and responsive than the previous one.
More recently, at the end of 2024, the Hero 2 sensor benefited from what Logitech G nicknamed its “88/888 update” and yes, these are the above -mentioned magic. To which this collection of eight refers is the update of update of the sensor in three ways: with a category sufficiently high to support a survey rate of 8 kHz, capable of following the acceleration rates of 88 g and more than 888 inches per second.
Eight grateful
The decomposition of these technological specifications “8/88/888” could deepen the technical weeds frankly useless. That said, it is clearly worth examining these specifications in detail, starting with this 8 kHz survey rate.
The survey rate simply refers to the number of times per second on which the game mouse reports its position on the PC in which it is connected. 8 kHz means 8,000 reports on the position of the mouse every second, or to look at them in another way, eight information packages on where the mouse is located – and other actions outside the movement, such as button clicks – are sent each millisecond. This is the key to reaching a very low latency level, which can facilitate more precise monitoring of the mouse position in a given game (depending on the data provided to the game having a greater level of precision).
And this ultra-show latency is increased by the second figure, which is 88 and this refers to the hero 2 update allowing the sensor to deal with an acceleration up to 88g (G-Force). To put this in perspective, a fighter pilot can feel up to 9g during aerobatic maneuvers, so it’s almost 10 times this level. This means in practice, it is that as fast as the Logitech G mouse is whipped around the mouse in fast -action situations – with, say, an instruction point of view in a shooter – it offers lower latency and a more consistent experience with the Hero 2 sensor compared to rival products.
Then there is the third figure which refers to 888 inches per second (IPS). This means the raw speed to which any given mouse is able to operate – in other words, quickly sweeping the stand without losing without losing information. The IPS 888 of the Hero 2 is notably the highest in the industry, and Logitech G claims that it is 20% faster than the nearest rival gaming mouse – easily fast enough for the best Echelon Pro players.
Logitech G Pro Gaming Souris
At this point, if you are sold on the idea of a Logitech G mouse as an ideal companion to help advance your professional play ambitions, your next question could be: which particular model should I buy?
The upper level of the Logitech G game mouse which has the Hero 2 sensor mentioned (now provided with this important update 8/88/888) are the logitech G Pro X Superlight 2, Pro X Superlight 2 Dex and the Pro 2 Lightspeed.
(Although note that the Pro 2 Lightspeed does not come with an 8 kHz survey as standard – it has 1 kHz by default, but you can go to 8 kHz by buying the separate pro lightspeed receiver).
As the pro name indicates, these are the choices of professional players with regard to the Logitech G range, and they are all wireless gaming mice. So, if you don’t like the feeling of an attached cord with regard to quick films to break a quick whim, you don’t have to worry about it.
In addition, if you are concerned with a wireless connection that is not as robust or reactive as a wired cable – do not be. Logitech G worked hard to ensure a reliable wireless connection with its game mouses, and its Lightspeed devices are carefully tested in a complete RF validation process. These products are designed not only to operate well at home, but also to cope with wireless signal environments like a LAN tournament in a huge arena.
With all these Logitech G Pro Series mice, you also get a wireless load (when associated with the PowerPlay system) and on -board memory profiles to record your settings. There is also RGB lighting and a ambidextrous design with the pro 2 Lightspeed.
There are, of course, other game mice in the Logitech G range, including the popular Logitech G502 x plus like another premium option. There are also alternative choices for those with stricter budgets, such as Logitech G309 Lightspeed, which is a low -cost game mouse.
If you are a professional player, or if you hope to be one day – or maybe you just have a highly competitive state of mind with regard to your online games – Logitech G has covered you with mouse which offer in terms of speed, responsiveness and precision, without mentioning reliability.
