What is cooler than the headphones that seem to belong to a galaxy far, far? Obviously, headphones also embody the tones of Star Wars, a lightsaber igniting the emblematic groan of a droid.
Now, in the famous celebration of Star Wars, which starts on April 18, 2025 in Tokyo, Japan, Star Wars collaborated with Audio-Technica for four personalized headphones, and Techradar has your exclusive practical experience with the four.
This collaboration comes to life in four personalized pairs in limited edition of the ATH -KS50TW2. You can show your allegiance to the dark side or to that of the rebels with Dark Vader, R2-D2, Grogu and the Mandalorian models. And these versions will not only be the game with the Dark Vader headphones obtaining a shiny black finish which resembles the emblematic helmet or the R2-D2 obtaining a work of blue and white paint, but these also praises personalized sound effects.
Techradar can also reveal that the box contains a personalized and shiny sticker corresponding to the headphones and featuring the emblematic character. The box itself is limited and special. You will not have to worry about calling a bonus to allow you these bourgeons in a limited edition – if you can get hold of a pair, Star Wars Editions de l’Ath -ks50TW2 costs $ 179.99, which is only $ 30 more than the standard.
These headphones will be launched exclusively in person during the celebration of Star Wars, so if you are fortunate to be in Tokyo, Japan, you will get them first. But they will also be available in limited quantities – no word on the exact number – audio -technica directly, from April 21, 2025. They will start shipping by no one other than Star Wars Day – May 4.
But we have the headphones you are looking for and we have unpacked the four – R2 -D2, Dark Vader, the Mandalorian and Grogu included. Continue to scroll for a photo guide, as well as the special details that we discovered by making hands and ears. And if you are already familiar with the ATH -KS50TW2, they have the same set of features.
The personalized nature of the four buds is an emblematic painting work for each, starting with the case. These still have a mainly plastic construction for the shell, but in relief on the upper cover is an emblematic sentence associated with the character.
- Dark Vader: “It’s your destiny.”
- The Mandalorian: “It’s the way.”
- R2-D2: “The droid you’re looking for.”
- Grogu: “Wherever I go, he leaves.”
It also matches colors, so Dark Vader is a deep black, the Mandalorian is a lighter nuance of silver, making its best to look like Beskar, R2-D2 is white with blue accents, and growled is two distinct shades of green. The design team here has really taken the time to pay tribute to the characters.
The headphones are seated in the case and have the same construction as the standard ATH -KS50TW2, including the fact that they break magnetically. It is certainly a feature that I would like to see other buds adopt.
With Grogu, he joins green with a light brown for the main shell – the ear tips are green and several are included in the box, but there is also an Aurébesh writing included outside. Printed on headphones, however – facing the ear – is another emblematic sentence. In the case of growls, it is “The Child” on the left earpiece and “Little Bounty” on the right.

For the other half of the two clan, the Mandalorian, the headphones mainly use various shades of money, the largest choice of color being brushed. It has a little shiny and the ear spikes are dark gray. The message here is straight at point – “Mandalorian” on the left and “Hunter de Bounty” on the right.
R2-D2 is mainly white with blue stripes on the side and blue ear tips, the printed message is also to the point that Mando ‘-“R2-D2” on the left and “Astromech Droid” on the right.
However, it seems that the dark side is in the lead for design. Dark Vader’s buds look quite impressive with a brilliant black finish against the world, and the audio-technica team here uses red accents with sparing. More importantly, “the power of” lives on the left and “the dark side” lives on the right – as it is cool. These seem fantastic.

Although the companion application for Android or iOS has not yet been updated to associate with these headphones, there will be a skin corresponding to the headphones of the application. Now, a little cooler than design is special sounds, which could add moments of Star Wars in your day.
An interesting choice, however, given that these are reskinings of the ATH-TCS50TW2. There is no speaker in the case, so personalized sounds only play in the headphones themselves and can be a little difficult to hear at the beginning.
Audio-Technica has personalized the chime for headphones when you remove them from the case or put them back, as well as other features such as noise cancellation commitment or pass mode.
With Dark Vader, you will hear the lightsaber run away and this famous deep and deep breathing. Pressing the button on the Vader buds gives an impulse of the lightsaber. Although I could not make it work, a red alert alarm will sound for a weak battery – certainly increasing the issues.
For Grogu, you will hear what looks like its opening or closing, but you will also hear some of the emblematic roucoules for which the baby Yoda is known. This pod or the sound or the opening of the door or the closure is the same for the Mandalorian when you leave them first from the case, and press the button to start a mode looks like a loan thrown on the table – or maybe Beskar is classified together.
My favorite goes to R2-D2, however. You will hear its emblematic beeps when you put these headphones and you connect, but disconnection gives us the emblematic groan. It’s just delicious. Imagine when the application is launched and these fully launched, there will be a certain personalization.
In front, you can see a full photo slideshow of all the details near the groan, R2-D2, Dark Vader and Mandalorian headphones ath-analytw2. And if you are fortunate to be the celebration of Star Wars, you can get them in person, or if you are in the United States and you want to test your luck, try to mark them when they go up for the pre-order of Audio-Technica here.
