Storm Pedro is expected to bring snow and more heavy rain to the UK this week as forecast, heralding the entry of a new weather system.
Storm Pedro’s name comes from Météo France, the French national weather service, where the storm is expected to have a major effect.
Additionally, yellow weather warnings have already been forecast for today, Wednesday and tomorrow in parts of the country, with wintry showers and icy conditions forecast.
According to the MET office, “an area of rain and snow is possible to affect parts of Wales, central England and the southern Pennines during Wednesday evening and Thursday night.”
The Met Office has also forecast rainy and snowy conditions for Northern Ireland from 4am today, February 18, until 8pm, Wednesday evening, February 19.

There will be some spells of rain affecting southern England from Wednesday and late Wednesday night until Thursday morning; During this period, snowfall is also expected in hilly areas, mainly on Wednesday evening.
After a period of wet and gray weather, temperatures are expected to rise again towards the weekend, reaching up to 13 degrees Celsius in Exeter, according to the Met Office.
