The report comes from Bloomberg journalist, Mark Gurman, who says that Apple’s apparatus will include a seven -inch screen that looks like a “smaller and cheaper iPad”. It will be used to “control household appliances, carry out cats facetime and manage other tasks,” explains Gurman.
This might not look like a new revolutionary product, and Gurman himself describes it as “essentially a homepod with a screen of about 7 inches”. However, the journalist believes that it will also be “the most important release of the year of Apple” because it will be a step towards the company which is more strongly on the market for smart homes.
In addition to that, Gurman says that the device “provides another platform for AI’s features” and that Apple will follow it with a more advanced product in a few years. This high -end version will be delivered with a robotic arm that will allow the screen to follow a user in the room.
What must happen
It is encouraging to see Apple making movements in the smart domestic space, but the company has a lot of work to do to make its competitive device against competitors like Google and Amazon.
