VMS Group, a Hong Kong family office with just under $ 4 billion in management assets (AUM), ventures into the crypto for the first time, Bloomberg reported on Monday.
The company has assigned up to $ 10 million to investment strategies managed by the Speculative Fund Finance (DEFI) Re7 decentralized capital, its partner Elton Cheung told the press organization.
VMS seeks to diversify in more liquid investments, said Cheung. Its investment strategy has largely focused on investment capital during its existence of two decades. Private Equity has become less liquid because the investments choose to stay private longer, he added.
Cheung has also cited a clearer regulatory treatment of digital assets in many jurisdictions as well as growing institutional demand as factors in entering crypto.
The VMs did not respond to the request for comments from Coindesk.
