A man who had recently brought his family back to Pakistan in the United States admitted to having shot his teenage daughter, motivated by his disapproval of his content as Tiktok, said Pakistani police.

The incident took place on Tuesday in Quetta, the capital of the province of Balutchistan.

“Our investigation suggests that the family has disapproved of their dressing, social activities and lifestyle,” said the main investigator Zohaib Mohsin. He added that the authorities are considering all angles, including the possibility of a murder of honor.

Haq, who has American citizenship, had recently returned his family to Pakistan after spending 25 years in the United States. According to the police, he opposed the Tiktok content of his daughter, which she had started to publish alive in the United States and continued after their return to Pakistan.

The Haq brother-in-law was also arrested as part of the murder.

Police said the suspect was officially accused of murder. However, they did not provide documentation on his American citizenship, declaring that this was based on his own testimony. They also refused to confirm whether the American authorities had been informed.
