- Honor referred to Samsung in a new promotional image for the Honor 400 series
- The Honor 400 Pro should compete with the Samsung Galaxy A56
- The Honor 400 series will be announced on May 22
It is always fun to see the manufacturers of smartphones taking themselves into play, and the last implementation of Honor targets its longtime rival Samsung.
In a promotional image announcing the release date of May 22 for the Honor 400 series, Honor included a series of indices to excite fans on the most exciting features of phones. Among these hidden pointers, there is a message reading “not the same”, with “Sam” appearing in bold blue letters – clearly a reference to the competitor of honor.
It is the same police honor used to make fun of Samsung for the supposed lack of innovation of Galaxy S25 Ultra in January, so the brand has clearly a bee in its hood with Samsung, in particular. The Honor 400 should compete with the mid -range Samsung Galaxy A56, so “not the same thing” could be a reference to the phone of the uniqueness of the honor, or even a pure and simple blow to the recent perceived similarity of the range of affordable Samsung smartphones.

Of course, it is a big speech for a company of size of honor, but the confidence of the brand in its own product could be well founded. In a separate teaser image (below), Honor confirmed that the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro will boast of an “Ultra-Claire AI camera” of 200 MP, which looks more like a match for the 50MP main camera on the Galaxy A56.
The Honor 400 Pro could also have a dedicated telephoto lens, with rumors alluding to a 50 MP sensor associated with the zoom – the Galaxy A56, on the other hand, has a 12MP ultra -large lens and a 5MP macro lens.
We have not heard much else about the next mid-honor, but the aforementioned teaser image strongly suggests that one or the two phones will include unique AI software and impressive resistance in water.
The release date of May 22 for the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro will come a month after the Rays of Honor 400 Lite. We have described this model for the budget as a “solid handset with attractive features” in our review Honor 400 Lite, but the upcoming phones of Honor will have work to do if they hope to compete with the Galaxy A56, which we congratulated to be an “impressive jack-tierrain” and one of the best inexpensive phones.
