- Soul Rebel is a compact record player with under-plinth lighting and an Audio-Technica cartridge
- Rise Up is a cheaper all-in-one with fewer premium components
- Both models feature Bluetooth input and output and built-in speakers
House of Marley makes some awesome and affordable turntables, like the Revolution: As we said in our review of this turntable, you get a pretty good turntable for a pretty low price: “There are cheaper Bluetooth turntables, but none have the same style and build quality as the Revolution.” And now the company has two new models to tempt you: the Soul Rebel and the Rise Up.
The Rise Up is an affordable all-in-one with built-in speakers, while the Soul Rebel is a more premium version with under-base lighting and a better cartridge. And while neither will upset the big names in audiophile gear, they could be among the best turntables for buyers on a budget.
House of Marley Soul Rebel and Rise Up vinyl turntables: main features and prices
Both decks have a staggered launch, with the Soul Rebel launching on October 25th and the Rise Up on November 1st.
The Soul Rebel has a list price of $379.99 (around £280 / AU$580) and is designed for small spaces, with a sleek, compact design featuring under-base lighting to help set the mood. It has an Audio-Technica AT3600L stylus, which is familiar in this price bracket, and it has Bluetooth input and output, so you can play it from your phone or send audio to some of the best Bluetooth headphones. It has a metal top and built-in speakers.
The Rise Up costs $199.99 (around £150 / AU$300) and comes with a ruby ceramic stylus, plastic tray, Bluetooth input and output, and speakers. It is clearly aimed at the vinyl beginner.
Both models are made from natural bamboo and a blend of recycled plastics, and come in 100% plastic-free recyclable packaging.
UK pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed for these two models, but House of Marley tends to have a dollar/pound parity – for example, the aforementioned Revolution turntable currently costs $149 in the US and £149 in the UK – so while I’ve provided the converted currency amounts above, expect eventual UK prices to differ.
