How did Quentin Griffiths, co-founder of ASOS, fall from an apartment balcony in Thailand?

The online fashion giant’s co-founder and millionaire Quentin Griffiths has died after falling from his apartment balcony in Pattaya, Thailand.

His apartment was on the 17th floor.

Thai police discovered the body of a 58-year-old man inside the apartment complex on February 9.

The initial investigation confirmed no signs of foul play. Police said the door was locked from the inside. No one was detected in the CCTV footage entering or leaving the apartment.

Additionally, there was no disturbance, no struggle, and no indication that anyone else was present.

A Thai police investigator told the BBC“We found no evidence of foul play.”

The apparent signs indicate that he fell due to personal circumstances.

Griffiths was separated from his second wife, who is a Thai national, and is currently facing two trials.

Last year, his ex-wife also accused him of falsifying documents to sell shares and land in a joint venture. However, Griffiths has denied all these allegations.

Police discovered legal documents related to those lawsuits in his apartment.

A Thai friend informed police that Griffiths was concerned about the prosecution. Stress, maybe. But stress alone does not explain a man’s fall from a 17th floor balcony.

The apartment was his longtime residence in a high-end hotel. He was alone in the apartment.

He had emigrated from Britain many years ago and sold £15 million worth of ASOS shares in 2010 and again in 2013, after helping to create one of Britain’s biggest clothing retailers.
