Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s son, Nick Reiner, is currently under arrest after being accused of murdering his parents, and his time in prison is reportedly grim.
The 32-year-old filmmaker is confined at the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles, where he was transferred on December 15.
Nick has been on suicide watch since his arrest and is ordered to wear a suicide vest at all times, which he was also seen in during his first court appearance.
The accused writer would be kept in complete seclusion and would only be allowed to interact with authorized legal authorities, a source said. People Magazine.
Nick is also under constant surveillance by video camera, which remains under the authority of the officer escorting him.
“This is important so that no one compromises this high-profile case and so that no civilian or detainee can ask him questions, such as why he killed his parents,” they told the outlet.
Although reports were released regarding Nick’s disturbed mental health and his diagnosis of schizophrenia, the source confirmed that he is being examined daily by mental health professionals and will remain under suicide prevention watch until doctors declare him safe.
