Live streams of the 2025 New York Marathon bring the major marathon season to a close with debutants Eliud Kipchoge and Sifan Hassan, two of the biggest names in athletics, taking to the streets of the Big Apple. Yet the 26.2-mile course around the five boroughs isn’t just about the big names and famous faces, it’s about the thousands of amateur runners who compete against the clock and raise money for charities across the world.

Kipchoge will complete the ensemble when he hits the roads of New York for the first time on Sunday. The tall 40-year-old Kenyan will win the Seven Star medal by running each of the seven major marathons in his prestigious career, but will also want to prove his class in what is a stacked elite men’s field. There is also plenty of interest in Kipchoge’s old track rival Kenenisa Bekele, who is a late entrant, while Paris 2024 bronze medalist Benson Kipruto will also be on the start line.
