Watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix live streams as the 2025 Formula 1 season comes down to the tensest of finales. Lando Norris leads Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by just 12 points and his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri by 16 points, with the drivers’ championship fully set for a three-way fight on the final race weekend of the season. Motorsport doesn’t get any better than this.
Any podium will be enough for Norris to win his first title, while reigning champion Verstappen will claim a fifth consecutive championship if he takes the checkered flag and Norris is fourth or worse. Piastri is the underdog and will need misfortune to befall at least one of his rivals for the title.
Mercedes’ George Russell is fourth, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc fifth and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso sixth. Lewis Hamilton was knocked out in the first round of qualifying for the third consecutive Grand Prix, saying he felt “an unbearable amount of anger and rage”.
Norris arguably should have concluded this weeks ago, but struggled to cross the line. In Qatar last weekend, McLaren tried to put the Briton ahead of Piastri, depriving the latter of victory at the expense of Verstappen’s victory.
The Dutchman, however, has been nothing short of extraordinary, collecting 213 points from a possible 257 over the last nine Grands Prix to put pressure on debutants McLaren.
“Incredibly happy to be first,” Verstappen said after Saturday’s qualifying. “That’s the only thing we can do: try to maximize everything with the car.”
Will team tactics come into effect? If Verstappen leads and Norris is behind Piastri, needing a place to win the title, don’t bet against…
