HP recently revealed a host of new high-performance systems during its latest product presentation, but one device seems to be dominating the conversation.
The HP Z8 Fury G6i stands out as the company’s most aggressive attempt yet to address heavy AI and simulation workloads without compromise.
This system supports up to four Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, paired with next-generation Intel Xeon processors, scaling up to 86 cores and 174 threads, with boost frequencies up to 4.8 GHz and large cache allocations.

Extreme processing power
This configuration allows it to handle complex renderings, large-scale simulations, and demanding AI development tasks.
“High-performance technology and workflows are evolving faster than ever,” said Jim Nottingham, executive vice president and president of Advanced Compute Solutions.
“HP Z Workstations are designed to equip the best and brightest professionals with the tools they need for specialized workflows and AI at the edge, while giving IT decision-makers the ability to scale performance responsibly.
Hardware extends beyond the usual confines of workstations, especially as memory and data requirements continue to grow.
It supports up to 2TB of DDR5-6400 ECC memory across 16 DIMM slots and eight memory channels, enabling data-intensive AI workflows without constant bottlenecks.
This device supports an optional HP Max side panel that extends the chassis itself, increasing internal volume and allowing the installation of larger graphics cards without modification.
This is an industry-first feature as it physically extends the width of the workstation to accommodate quad GPUs and up to 600W.
The tool-free design solves a practical problem as some users have had to open workstation panels simply to install oversized graphics cards, which will no longer be necessary.
“This increases your airflow and thermal performance by 15%,” Nottingham added, noting that GPU power requirements continue to increase with each generation.
The HP Z8 Fury G6i features a data center-style architecture with up to 104TB of storage across multiple NVMe configurations, including front-accessible and hot-swappable drives.
It offers nine PCIe slots, including PCIe 5.0 x16 lanes, for additional accelerators, network cards, or storage controllers.
Dual PSUs up to 2700W deliver stable performance under heavy workloads.
For connectivity, this device features Thunderbolt 5, Hi-Speed USB, Wi-Fi 7, and up to 100 GbE networking.
HP’s workstation lineup also includes the Z4 G6i desktop and ZBook X G2i and ZBook 8 G2i mobile models.
It also offers hybrid systems, including the HP ZGX Nano and ZGX Fury, which combine local computing with cloud resources.
The HP Z8 Fury G6i is expected to be available on HP.com starting in April 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to availability.
