Especially absent from the funerals and Tuesday celebrations, Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan. She explained on social networks that even if she appreciated “all the celebrations and events organized to honor her”, she chose to honor her in a way “which made me feel closest to him”.

“My father hated the morbidity of the funeral. He didn’t want it. And although I know that people cry in many ways – and I am so grateful for all the celebrations and events organized to honor him, like his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and the most authentic so that I know how … private … The way I made him.

“We love you and honor the things that made you so special. Each grain of sand and each wave reminded me of being your beach baby, and brought us closer to you. I pray that you are at peace and I know how much I love you.

Hogan died on July 24 After having undergone a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He had a history of atrial fibrillation, a heart disease that causes an irregular and rapid heart rate. He was 71 years old.
