- Windows 11 24h2 could not be installed by users of certain wallpaper customization applications

Microsoft has finally raised a compatibility block preventing some Windows 11 users from going to the latest version of the operating system because they have installed certain third -party wallpaper applications.
These are applications that allow you to install personalized wallpaper on your Windows 11 machine, and the applications in question have not played with Windows 11 24H2, failed in various ways. This included errors, errors, seeds with the wallpapers themselves, desk icons disappearing or even problems with virtual desktop computers.
Windows Central has noticed that Microsoft has now marked these problems as resolved in an update of the state of health of the Windows 11 version. Thus, those who have their wallpaper applications are acceptable to move forward and install the 24H2 update.
Well, in theory anyway, although there are warnings here, on which I will come.
You may remember that this compatibility block was set up at the end of 24h2, at the end of September of last year, it took a while to smooth these problems – and there is also a reason for that.
Analysis: Light complications
As indicated, there are captures here, as Microsoft tells us in its update of the Health Release dashboard.
To start, the compatibility block is only gradually deleted, so you can wait a little longer, depending on the configuration of your PC and the exact application that you have installed.
Microsoft explains: “Note that several wallpaper applications are currently included in this compatibility.
Hence the long expectation of the resolution of this case, because it seems that Microsoft did not shine with Windows 11 24H2 himself so that these applications work, or at least do not do much in the manner. On the contrary, he apparently awaited the developers of individual applications so that their software is good with 24h2 themselves.
Microsoft also notes that when you launch the Windows 11 24H2 Windows installation process, you can see a message telling you to uninstall a wallpaper application. You are advised to do so – and simply empty the Wallpaper application for the moment – or try to update the application, as this prompt could have appeared because you are running an old version of the program.
In other words, updating the Wallpaper application and the reduction of Windows 11 24H2 can work again – but if not, you will probably have to delete the application.
Windows 11 24H2 has a problem history with third -party personalization software that goes back well before the output, deep in its test phase when certain popular public services have been prohibited (to the sorrow of certain Windows initiates). Given that 24H2 is built on a brand new underlying platform, Germanium, this has caused many more problems than any other update for Windows 11 so far.
And although such a big change can be a headache and trigger more bugs than normal, the amount of which we have been witnesses was essentially a minor avalanche and a clearly unpleasant experience for certain users of Windows 11.
