With the beginning of August, the preparations for the 78th day of the independence of Pakistan began with enthusiasm in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The streets, markets and shopping centers are buzzing from the sale of green crescent flags, badges and patriotic goods, including clothes, hair strips, keys, etc. Temporary stalls are installed in the neighborhoods, the national song sounds filling the air. Government buildings such as the Presidency, the Parliament Chamber, the Supreme Court and the main markets are decorated with colorful lights and bruants. The flag’s sobin ceremonies will take place at the High Court, at the district bar, Adiala prison, universities and the board of directors of education. The central ceremony in Rawalpindi will take place at the Government Waqar-Un-Nisa Girls College at 9 am, when the federal and provincial ministers will hoist the flag. Cultural programs, gatherings and exhibitions are also planned. In particular, the traditional fireworks of the former Minister of the Interior Sheikh Rashid in Lal Haveli will not take place this year.
